Dry Needling

Help Your Body Heal Naturally

Healing from Within

Relieve pain and discomfort with dry needling therapies by helping your body heal naturally. Muscle pain is usually caused by an area of tight, irritated muscles or trigger point. During a dry needling treatment, one or more monofilament needles are inserted into a muscle trigger point to stimulate the nerve fibers releasing the trigger point that is causing the pain. This is an effective way to address muscle pains without using medications.

Dry Needling Therapy

Dry needling is often included in our customized treatment plans alongside various stretching, massage and other techniques to reduce the trigger point returning. We are able to target trigger points all over the body and relive pain for many conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Small needles are inserted near trigger points to increase blood flow to the area and reduce muscle tension. When the needles are inserted into the skin, the action stimulates nerve fibers which releases the spasm that is causing the pain.

No. Dry needling and acupuncture's goals are different. Dry needling targets specific trigger points to increase blood flow with the goal of releasing the trigger point. Acupuncture targets points along main pathways or meridians representing bodily organs with the goal to restore proper energy flow.

During dry needling, patients will often experience a twitch or spasm in the muscle when the needle is inserted. This often indicates the therapy is working and releasing the tensions. You may experience soreness for a day or two.
